1st Question: Soft or tight briefs or boxers?
The first basic morning’s question is precisely what kind of underwear to wear: slip or boxer? The choice must take into consideration habits, hygiene and comfort, always respecting the fashion trends.
The soft boxer, after many years of silence, comes back in the mid-70s, the years of transgression, thanks to an advertisement that portrays a man in boxers where, deliberately, it was possible to foresee the genitals. This garment fits well as it follows easily the shape of the trousers and the intimate parts are in total freedom. Nowadays it is the favorite garment between teenagers and sportsmen. They exist in all manifactures (mainly in cotton) and even in lots of funniest fantasies. The only negative aspect is the fact that the private parts are not contained because of the non-adherent shape and their movement can cause redness and irritation.
The success of the boxer continues in the 80s up to the 90s, a period in which, Calvin Klein’s company, proposed a middle way between a soft boxer and a brief, so the boxer was born. It was proposed with an important band elastic in which the brand clearly appeared. Being adherent it can be put under any kind of trousers without highlighting signs or creases.
In year 2005 a new variant of the tight boxer was born, the slip, which is also adherent fitting, a shorter model than the previous one, which, moreover, highlights the attributes. Here the great names such as Emporio Armani, Calvin Klein and others began the race to propose sculptural physicists, almost imaginary, all with the new underwear.
So what do we choose: soft boxer, tight boxer or briefs? The choice is strictly personal even if it is convenient, for aesthetic reasons, to avoid soft boxers under classic suits.
From a research, however, derives that the boxer man or the brief man have well defined and particular characteristics:
• the boxer man touches you while talking, gesticulating and winking, the brief man is elegant in his manners;
• the boxer man tends to hide the attributes, the man slip instead to highlight them;
• the boxer man loves spontaneity, the briefs man loves comfort;
• the slip man sounds the horn in traffic because of boxer men;
• the boxer man is himself, naturally, the man slip is shaved;
• the boxer man wears bermudas trousers; the man slip the short pants;
• the boxer man trusts you; the brief man is wary;
• and last but not least the man slip if he pulls it, the boxer man is too lazy to lie.
So the final choice is up to You!
2nd Question: what to wear under the shirt: T-shirt, underware tank or anything?
For hygiene’s matter it would always be better to wear a garment, even if often in hot periods it’s preferable to avoid it. For aesthetic reasons, in fact, the spots of sweat and the body hair that come out of the shirt, are really not a great sight!
YES to the T-shirt on condition that the shirt is quite structured in the fabric, in order not to let the garment appear underneath. Moreover, the undershirt must be adherent to the skin so as not to form unsightly visible rolls under the shirt. However, I always recommend the white color or in any case the same color as the shirt, but in a lighter shade. With a classic suit worn without a tie, the t-shirt should not appear at all, consequantly absoluterly NO to the round-neck t-shirt, only “V”-neck. The same rule should be applied to sports and casual wearing. Only in this case the youngest can also afford colorful shirts and printed, however, always to be combined with the shirt (always respect the combination between shirt with print and solid color shirt). However, the “V” t-shirt is always the favorite. In this case the shirt must absolutely have a soft neck.
NO to the undershirt since it does not protect You from the sweat under the armpits and generally can be seen under the shirt.
3rd Question: White or colored socks?
Absolutely colored, white socks should be used only in sports environement (and of terry) or exclusively with white trousers.
They can be of various yarns, here are the main ones:
• Wool socks: they a well absorb moisture, favoring the foot’s perspiration and keeping the foot warm in winter and cool in summer.
• Cotton socks: they are the most common and sometimes cotton is enriched with synthetic fibers to better maintain the shape of the foot.
• Cashmere and silk socks: they are very expensive and mainly indicated for a formal or evening suit.
The general rule is to match socks with shoes or trousers, shirt, jacket. I still prefer the combination with the pants. Here are some examples in a classic and formal context:
• Blue outfit + Blue socks + Black or brown shoes
• Gray suit + Gray socks + Black or brown shoes
• Brown suit + brown socks + brown shoes
• Black suit + anthracite gray socks in solid color or with small motifs.
In this case, the sock must cover the calf. The sock par excellence must always be long.
The short sock can only be granted during sports activities.
Into a more informal context, we could hazard different colors in plain or patterned colors.
Here are some examples:
• Blue suit + Burgundy or red socks + Black or brown shoes
• Gray suit + Dark green or red socks + Black or brown shoes
• Infinite other possibilities.
For lovers of striped stocking this must contain the colors of the sweater or shirt. For polka-dot socks, on the other hand, the matching must be done with the handkerchief in the jacket’s pocket.
The socks with design or small patterns are only allowed with jeans and sneakers for going out with friends.
REMEMBER:
Avoid: tie + socks + laces of the same color.
Avoid the red socks when you already have some green (it’s too much like a Christmas tree)
Avoid: scarf + belt + socks + laces of the same color
Avoid: black trousers + red or yellow socks.
Avoid sports socks with city wearing.
Avoid socks with flashy writings and drawings.
Avoid short socks that do not sufficiently cover the leg when the trousers go up.
Avoid the short socks under a suit
Avoid mixing too many colors (3 different colors on average are sufficient).
